The result is a series of custom-made solid wood furniture pieces and interior elements that bring together contemporary design and precise craftsmanship. For the “Ethias Rives Ardentes” project, Palm Wood Interior delivered a comprehensive workspace fit-out across several floors. The project was designed by [Jaspers-Eyers Architects](https://www.jaspers-eyers.be/p/ethias-rives-ardentes.html), in collaboration with the construction companies [Franki](https://www.willemen.be/fr/entrepreneur/franki), [CIT Blaton](https://citblaton.be/fr) and [Jan De Nul](https://www.jandenul.com/). The distinctive interior design was developed by [Chills](https://www.chills.studio/). ### Open yet structured reception and waiting area Every day, numerous clients and visitors enter the open-plan reception and waiting area on the ground floor of the building. Floor-to-ceiling **room dividers** made of dark wood structure the space and create discreet zones without compromising openness. Benches, organically shaped chairs and small tables complement the layout and form a comfortable waiting area. High tables with stools, together with custom-made wooden planters positioned along the windows, add variety and a natural atmosphere. The **modern reception desk** forms the focal point of the space. Its distinctive design, featuring semi-circular columns and indirect lighting, gives the area an elegant appearance. The precise workmanship highlights Palm’s craftsmanship and turns the desk into a striking visual feature. Behind the public area lies an exclusive **barista zone** for employees. The curved bar with counter and stools acts as an informal meeting place. Warm brown tones, an indirectly lit front and flowing shapes create an inviting ambience. Custom-made wooden benches and small tables complete the setting. Integrated planters in the backrests serve as subtle space dividers while enhancing the overall sense of comfort. ### Design of the management floor The upper floors house the management department. Here, the focus was on creating a calm and high-quality working environment. Striking **acoustic elements** with leaf-like and wedge-shaped forms specifically improve room acoustics in open-plan areas and corridors. Mounted on the walls and covered with fabric, these foam elements effectively reduce noise while adding an aesthetic dimension. All **furniture** on the management floor was custom-made. Built-in cabinets, shelving units and seating are precisely adapted to the architecture. Clean lines and high-quality surfaces underline the representative character of the floor. ### Contemporary staff areas A key highlight in the staff areas are the built-in alcoves. These **seating niches**, featuring solid wood wall cladding made of smoked larch, provide quiet retreats for short breaks or informal conversations. Nearby, a large wall of **lockers** was integrated to allow the secure storage of personal belongings. The spatial concept is further enhanced by floor-to-ceiling **claustra room dividers**. Partially equipped with whiteboards or screens, they enable flexible and open meeting areas with high tables and stools. For daily coffee breaks, an open **coffee corner** was created close to the offices. A large cabinet wall made of dark wood offers generous storage space and integrates a snack vending machine. Lighter, lower cabinets serve as functional surfaces for coffee machines and accessories. They ensure a clear structure within the open kitchenette. The lunch break was also carefully designed. The **food court** for all employees features a light-coloured counter and an organically shaped ceiling that visually stands out from its surroundings. The interplay of light, form and materials creates a welcoming atmosphere. ### Turnkey project delivery Palm Wood Interior was involved in all phases of the project.
