# Setting up the CHU Brugmann crèche in Brussels

### Mission

		
The child care centre at the CHU Brugmann hospital in Brussels is a care facility for children where creativity, safety and well-being come together.

	
We at Palm Wood Interior were responsible for [planning, producing and installing the furnishings](/our-services/furniture-production-and-assembly/), in close collaboration with the renowned architect Arabelle Haulotte.

### Child-friendly planning and design

The main focus is on creating a child-friendly environment. The furniture and furnishings are predominantly made of wood and painted  in bright, friendly colours. This creates a cosy atmosphere and encourages children's creativity.

The rooms of the crèche are designed to offer plenty of space without appearing cluttered. Various play areas, generous storage space and well-thought-out nappy-changing stations with small steps for the youngest children ensure optimum use of space.

### Architectural highlights

The special architecture of the building fits seamlessly into the concept. Various landings and staircases in the high rooms, partial glass floors between the storeys and aesthetically clad high columns give the space a unique dynamic. An enormous amount of creativity was invested in the project to create an environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
